New! Firefighter Performance Protocol

Sport Performance Institute is the premier training facility in NWI that helps top athletes improve their performance, reduce their risk for injury, increase their career longevity, and reach their personal and professional goals. We realize that our philosophy and our methodology has changed the training approach of athletes in NWI and we want to integrate this with one of the most performance oriented, challenging and dangerous careers - firefighting. With one out of every three firefighters still getting injured every year and with cardiovascular disease remaining the leading killer of firefighters, the SPI Firefighter Performance Protocol is designed to meet the demands placed upon the individuals of this noble profession. This unique program packages state-of-the-art training, performance nutrition, mental training and injury reduction into a system that our participants can immediately implement for extraordinary improvements. It also helps firefighters learnto take control of their own core performance-training program in order to achieve their fitness and firefighting goals.

Athlete Maintenance Program

Keep an athlete's power level surging all season long with A.M.P. (Athlete Maintenance Program)! In-season "Athlete Maintenance Program" designed to keep players in the game and off the sidelines. Used to compliment the coaches pre-season conditioning protocol, SPI focuses on injury prevention and strength maintenance to enhance athletic performance throughout the season.

F.A.S.T. (Female Athlete Specific Training)

Research has shown that female athletes run an eight-times-greater risk of tearing the ACL compared with their male counterparts. Female athletes can be taught early on to balance, stabilize, and strengthen muscles that control the knee and avoid a costly ACL injury. SPI has developed a training protocol to reduce the risk and increase athletic performance in these female athletes. ALL female athletes should participate in this program!

Team Training

"The team that trains together stays together." Coaches, SPI specializes in providing cutting edge speed and conditioning programs for your team.

Performance Evaluation Program

SPI provides a comprehensive evaluation of each individual's athletic abilities specific to needs of their sport.

"Speed Zone"

Speed Wins! "Speed Zone" focuses on speed, agility, quickness, and power. Improve postural alignment, body mechanics, arm swing, footwork patterns, center of gravity, coordination of the feet and mind, change of direction, and explosive power.

"Basic Training"

"You're only as strong as your weakest link!" To "Build a Better Athlete", participants need to solidify their foundation for balance, stability, and kinesthetic awareness. This involves training the ankles, knees, hips, core, and shoulders to prevent injury, improve performance, and increase self-esteem. Should be the first stop for all athletes!

Baseball/Softball Conditioning Program

Hit for more power, throw with more velocity, and take that extra base with the SPI Baseball/Softball Conditioning Program. This 10 week training program is designed specifically to the player looking to take his/her abilities to the next level. Take advantage of the staff's professional baseball experience and extensive knowledge of the game!

Sport Specific Camps

Throughout the year, SPI schedules several "Build a Better Athlete" sport specific camps in soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, and football. These camps provide the athlete with the physical skills to improve game speed, power, agility, quickness, reaction, strength, balance, stability, and kinesthetics. "The most complete athletes are those who strive to overcome their weaknesses by hard work and persistence. Practicing on one's strengths is more enjoyable and obviously much easier, but working long and hard on one's weaknesses, while it may be the more difficult path to follow, has the certain assurances of success."  -Al Rosen
